Ottawa Winterlude 2006 . . . Return to "Cross Country Skiing" or "Snowshoeing"

It was a great weekend, and yes, there was enough snow to cross-country ski and to snowshoe at Chateau Montebello and Gatineau Park. Several Huggers even tried curling for the very first time and said it was fun. There was plenty of time and the weather co-operated to walk to the many museums, shops, art galleries, Parliament, the many restaurants and the beautiful churches especially the Cathedral of Notre Dame.

Unfortunately, the Rideau Canal was closed for ice skating and the ice sculpturing exhibits didn’t tolerate the "warm spell" that Ottawa was experiencing, but with so much to do and see there never was a dull moment! Thanks to the 40 Hugger members and 15 non-members who helped to make this weekend possible.
