Robert Treman 2000 . . . . . . . Return to "Camping Trips"

We had record numbers again this year. We even had five one-day guests who came to hike and visit. The weather cooperated (in other words, we lucked out). It rained on the way down and as we left to go home, other than that, we had sunshine! Some of the highlights included great people and great food. As is typical of most Hugger events, we had plenty to eat!

We had several new people attend this event and some even new to Huggers. We're delighted they came, and hope they enjoyed their introduction to Huggers. They were a wonderful addition to the event! We were delighted to see Judy and Jerry here for the month from "Hugger South" and Jim and Sandy here for summer from "Hugger West".

Trudy and her breakfast crew led the way with Egg McMundings. Breakfast was efficient and timed so the Pacesetter hikers and Pedal Power cyclists could eat before they left. Jim provided his fabulous camp coffee again this year. If you see Jim, ask him about his "dressed" mug.

Day activities included multiple hikes, bike rides, and, of course, the swimming hole. The water was a comfortable temperature since the day was hot and muggy. The waterfall was quite magnificent this year. Carl led night hikes for those adventurous people. The "Adventurous Splashing Flashers" even had a "wimp" walk on Saturday morning prior to other day's activities. What was thought to be the bat sign over Gotham City turned out to be Treman's version of Mothra. We had a couple fly over during our night activities.

Before leaving the area, some hiked at Buttermilk Falls, some did a bike ride, and some did the winery tour along Seneca Lake. We had a great time and many said they were already looking forward to next year. Save the date and mark your calendars for next year. The date is June 8-10, 2001.

Thanks to everyone for his or her support of this event in helping to make it successful. A big thanks to all the committee members for their help and to the participants who pitched in. We appreciate all you did.
