Pacesetters... The Snowshoeing Page

During the winter of 1998-99, a couple of the Pacesetter hikers wanted to get out more and decided to experiment with snowshoeing. They rented some equipment - wooden, plastic, and aluminum snowshoes, and visited a variety of locations from Webster to Honeoye. They had a ball! They soon invited their friends to try it and found many people were interested in it. So the following year it was decided to introduce the activity to the Huggers. An application to the Board of Directors was approved and the group became known by it's present name, the "Pacesetters Walking, Hiking, Snowshoeing Group". They started conducting Tuesday evening snowshoe hikes and some all-day events on weekends at a variety of Parks. They've even gone snowshoeing at night with flashlights, and they now do overnight weekend trips!
