2002 Appreciation Party . . . . . . . Return to "Pacesetter Schedule"

It was such a hot and humid day that the rosettes were sliding off the cake as I was carrying the cake from the bakery to my car and I thought nobody would want to come out on such a hot day to celebrate our very first appreciation party. But I was so wrong!! I want to thank the 53 Hugger members who joined Dave, Carl, and I on that hot Tuesday evening.

Everybody had a good time socializing while enjoying an icy cold can of beer or soda or wine. Hugger members are known for bringing a variety of good food and this party was no exception! We had many delicious appetizers (I hope everybody got to try Sue’s appetizer), a variety of salads, several hot dishes, and many scrumptious desserts. Melinda even brought her famous hot sauce.

Rob and Iris, Frank D, Sue Q, and Peter C., were some of the members who received recognition for their dedication and commitment to the Pacesetter Walking, Hiking, and Snowshoeing group.

I want to thank Iris for leading an evening walk through Henrietta Veterans Park. She even had us going on the playground equipment!! I want to personally thank everybody who helped in any way to make this a very successful party. Many people volunteered to help with set up and cleanup. I want to thank both members and nonmembers who have helped us to grow since 1998 and who have made this a very successful group that enjoys socializing all year long while walking, hiking, or snowshoeing. I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to Dave and Carl for their endless hours of behind-the-scene work and devotion in making The Pacesetters an active group and The Huggers Ski Club a great club.
