Although the ride to Lapland Lake was in the middle of a winter storm, with lots of rain and near-freezing conditions, the cross country skiing was surprisingly good. Conditions were described as a ‘frozen, granular surface’, which can be ok if the site is well groomed and tracked, which this was.
Friday and Saturday nights, John P. entertained us with his guitar and vocals. Saturday was a day for exploring the area and testing our skill on the hills. Saturday night was good eating and game time, including charades, Apples to Apples, and Scrabble. On Sunday, folks tended to ski a more relaxed agenda, and enjoy the sunshine and moderate temperatures. Thank you, Mary E., for running another excellent trip.
