We had 21 campers who took advantage of the trip. Friday and part of Saturday was somewhat rainy.
We managed to get our tents set up between raindrops. Friday's campfire was fun with popcorn
(compliments of Connie) and s'mores (compliments of Cindy).
Saturday afternoon turned out to be beautiful -- bright and sunny! Meal time was put off
a bit so everyone could enjoy the sunshine. Everyone was on their own for meals, but most
elected to eat together on Saturday and brought a dish to pass. (As always, we didn't have
enough food to go around! When did a Hugger ever go hungry?). Saturday's mealtime and
campfire had a beautiful sunset and no rain. Again we had popcorn and s'mores, along with
good company and conversation. We even saw fireworks!
Campers went fishing, biking, hiking, canoeing, sightseeing, and swimming. The water felt so good!
Sunday found us reluctant to leave -- the weather was great. Many lingered and spent the day in
the park. Dick & Joyce stayed another couple of days and kindly offered us the use of their site
for the day. Thanks to them for that offer.
Thanks to everyone who helped and who made this trip a successful one.
