International Fest 2003 . . . . . . . Return to "InternationalFest", or . . "Social Activities"

July 10, 2003
This is a good example of how one idea turned into a huge success. Of course it wouldn't have happened without the hard work and special foods prepared by my committee of extraordinary chefs, and the delicious and exotic foreign dishes prepared by our guests. It was truly incredible. It was also amazing to watch Gary D. cooking Phat Thai in three woks at the same time. Bravo!! Gary.

One of our guests, Chuck H., who had been in the catering business for many years, commented that he had never tasted such delicious and diverse food in all his days of catering. It was a culinary extravaganza of the first kind.

Bob P. did a great job as our fun and games coordinator. Barb H. won a prize for hitting Bob with a water balloon while she was blindfolded. (Can you hear me now?) Others played bocci or jarts while some hiked along Irondequoit Creek in Linear Park, which was just across the street. Of course there were always 1 or 2 games of euchre going on.

The Braman Post is a great place to hold an event. The price is right, it's centrally located, and it even has air conditioning and ceiling fans. The best part is that we don't have to be out by 10pm. I got so many compliments from so many of the 64 people who attended that we just might do it again next year. Thanks again to a great committee: Jeff, Bob, John B., Debb, Gary, Dale, Kathy K., Frank D., Sue Q., Chuck G., Sally, Philip, Jules, Nancy G., Barb H., John J., and Fritz. I couldn't have done it without you. Thanks also to Iris and Rob and Angela for your help cleaning up and anyone else that helped that I may have forgotten. My apologies to Bob P. for forgetting to put his Uzbecki lamb and rice dish out and to Dale L. for forgetting is Danish Frickadillea, which was in the microwave. We did have it later and it was delicious.
