Our Halloween weekend celebration at 10,000 Delights bed and breakfast on Keuka Lake was both delightful and dreadful, just the way we like it. Hugger hostess Mary E. arranged a happy hour followed by dinner on the patio of this inn with a beautiful view of the lake and fall foliage. It was mild outside, so we enjoyed most of the evening outdoors.

Costume awards were given to the scariest (Dave K.’s Dracula), most original (Richard H.’s geisha), funniest (Denny K.’s inflated chef), and best couple (Mary & Bruce’s Jack and Sally from the movie "Nightmare Before Christmas"), with Dick T.’s Jerry Garcia and Carla K.’s groupie couple coming in second. We also enjoyed Don G.’s ("Spike") punk look and Melinda’s cute scarecrow outfit. All 33 guests really did an outstanding job with costumes.

As some of you know from past visits, 10,000 Delights is supposed to be haunted. One annoying ghost did make periodic noises through the night until Alice P. discovered him hiding under the bathroom rug. For breakfast we got a real treat - homemade blueberry and cheese-filled muffins, sausages and fresh fruit. The rest of the weekend was enjoyed with hikes and wine tasting in the area.
