Cranberry Lake 2004 . . . . . . . Return to "Camping Trips"

Gary D’s infamous, annual camping trip has done it again. Besides the lovely park setting and weather (after the rain Thursday), we were amused by all the fun loving attendees. George and Bill together provided musical entertainment with guitars and songs, while many sang along.

Bill had quite a few dancing Saturday night after the margaritas took affect: Helen, Peggy, Terry and Ingrid, and Jeff and Mike. Mike must not have recognized Jeff in his African style moo-moo dress and hat. Ooops! The ladies later warned Jeff not to pull any Sharon Stone moves. Rich’s margaritas must have lasted the whole weekend, because he was grinning from ear to ear. Craig said he had so much fun he was left speechless. Mary reported an unnamed "mystery groper" at the Saturday night party who miscued, shocking and delighting the ladies. We heard tales of errant flashlights catching bare bums in the woods at night taking a quick leak. There were more than a few vehicles that slipped out of neutral and veered downhill. Al leaped into one to put the brake on and saved a tent. A tree caught another vehicle and smushed the license plate. No major damages reported.

There are more canoes and kayaks than ever in the club, plus quite a few rubber rafts. One group did a 40-mile bike ride. Superwomen Barb and Ruth biked 30 challenging miles, cooked dinner and attended the Saturday night party, all without a nap (unlike Steve and Wayne). Kudos to Sheryl for turning us on to a local map of seven waterfalls that you can seek and find road rally style. They proved to be fun to seek and were located in sweet scented woods covered with ferns. Club newbies including Gail and Maureen were duly impressed by Gary’s gourmet meals including grilled chicken, steak, shrimp appetizers, Caesar salad, fresh fruit salad and more. The "slutty witch" doll made her rounds and was found in many of the tents during the weekend. She’s probably promoting the Halloween B&B weekend at 10,000 Delights.
