During the weekend of July 19th-22nd, 35 happy campers enjoyed sunny, warm weather on
beautiful waterfront campsites on Cranberry Lake. As usual, many people helped in the
preparation of great meals starting with Thursday nights’ marinated chicken breast to
Saturday night's dinner, featuring happy-hour Margaritas, and a full dinner including
rib steak, wild rice, French bread, Caesar salad, and a fresh fruit salad.
Saturday's, Sept. 15th, post-party concluded the event for this year. After the terrible
events on Sept. 11th, the timing of the post-party could not have been better. By this
time, I think, everyone needed a diversion, and what better activity than sharing a
get-together with friends.
My thanks to all who helped me make this event a smashing success, particularly all who
hauled supplies to Cranberry, those who worked on meal committees, and to Barb, the trip
treasurer, who also offered her house for the post-party.
Those interested in going to Cranberry Lake NEXT year should mark their calendars now.
I have already reserved the same beautiful, waterfront campsites for the weekend of
July 18th-21st. On a final note, should anyone have any classic or compromising
pictures from this year's Cranberry lake trip, I would appreciate any extra prints
that I could turn in to the club historian.
