Clambake 2002 . . . . . . . Return to "Picnics/Clambakes", or . . "Social Activities"

September 21, 2002
This year’s clambake was a huge success. We are sorry we planned on only 80 attending and had to turn people away. We hope to run a larger event next year. Frank ran a fabulous party with lots of help from his committee including Bart, Trudy, Jules, Jeff, the two Bobs, Katie, Pauline, Bonnie, Emily, Samia, Kathy, Gail, and many others. In addition to the clams, the Club served barbecue chicken, sausage, salt potatoes, salads, corn, lots of munchies, and desserts. Beverages included beer (all gone), wine, many flavors of soda, coffee, and tea. They also raffled off one large lobster. Jeff provided CDs for background music. We had great weather and most of us spent the entire day outdoors. Some played bocce, others played basketball, while some were heard to talk about X-rated movies. (This is a very diverse club, in case you hadn’t noticed.) The success of this clambake was due to a great committee starting with Kathy and Jeff, who were very helpful in the planning months before the event. Be sure to sign up early next year so you don’t miss out, and consider being part of the committee (it’s fun).
