2008 End of Season Party . . . . . . . Return to "Biking Events"

Many thanks to all the volunteers who led bike ride events for the Pedal Power 2008 season. Again we had a great year with a total of 148 events, including scheduled and impromptu rides. The schedule filled up quickly at the beginning of the season and then overflowed with nice variety, such as The Cobblestone Tours, led by Iris, a City Tour ride led by Chuck G., some holiday impromptus and more daytime jaunts.

We totaled a cumulative 54,917 miles together making this the 3rd highest mileage year since year 2004. People opened their homes for rides and picnics. There were bike ride opportunities starting in many areas of Rochester. Richard T. hosted a bike ride every Thursday evening in the south-west side and Melody hosted a ride every Tuesday evening in the south-east side. Our total of 1,989 riders averaged, per event, 13 riders with an average of 27 miles per rider.

Our "End of Season Bike Party" was a lot of fun. Thanks to Iris for all her hard work to bring a great evening of fun and food to us, and especially the "Wall of Honorable Mentions"! Bob D. summed up our season’s stats and accomplishments in wonderful creativity with his "MC talent". Give a "Shout-out" to Bob! So, this season has ended but the next one is just around the corner! Gear up and get your ideas ready, plan to pedal-power and picnic, ride and recreate, and do it all with your Pedal Power friends.
