NovemberFest 2000
November 4, 2000
The NovemberFest was truly wunderbar and everyone had a great time. I did too, I think.
A lot of people said I did, anyway. All that beer from around the world sure was good.
Und how! Friday before the party, the committee came to my house and we made 45 lbs. of
the best German potato salad you ever had. It wasn't all work though. We had time to
sing a few songs around the old player piano. "Those were the days my friend, we thought
they'd never end." You betcha!
If you didn't get there early enough on Saturday, you missed a special treat.
Karl made venison sauerbraten, potato pancakes, and red cabbage. It disappeared
in a hurry -- und how! Karl is a prospective member, but we hope he becomes a member
real soon. So macht schnell und sign up, Karl.
Diane was great on the accordion and played a good selection of the best loved
German, Polish, Italian, and other ethnic polkas and waltzes that were so much fun to
dance to. A special danke shon to all the kuchen machers, Ruth, Peggy,
and Kathy. They were delicious!
Many, many thanks to Bob, who was my right-hand man, his lovely wife, Jill,
and the rest of my committee. Mike and Peggy, Mel, Gail,
Chuck, Ken, Barb, Mike K., Kathy, Jeff,
Evelyn, Tom, and Carol. And to Kari and Yvette
, who weren't on the committee, but chipped right in and helped when we needed it.
Thanks so much to all of you. I couldn't have done it without you.
Next year, we might do a Polish Fest or just do this again. Let me know what you want.
Until then, Aufwiedersehn. Scheiss Die Wand An, Trudy
